Ecommerce Developer Needed to Redesign & Rebuild Toy Brand Website

We are a well-established consumer brand with a larger ecommerce catalog and are seeking an experienced ecommerce developer (individual or small team) to redesign and rebuild our website for performance, usability, and mobile conversion.

Current challenged: Navigation & Product Discovery; Mobile Experience is underperforming; High dead-click rate; Check-out Friction; Slow load times, especially on mobile, Buying Path is overly complex; Site aesthetic.

Goals for rebuild: Modern, mobile-first redesign for ecommerce conversion; Simplified navigation and product discovery; streamlined checkout experience including major retailer links; Significantly improved mobile performance; Clean, scalable structure for a large catalog; SEO-safe rebuild (no loss of rankings); Integration of automated translation for international users; Stable, maintainable setup we can manage after launch.

Scope: UX/UI redesign; Front-end and back-end ecommerce implementation; Performance optimization (especially mobile); Checkout optimization; Shipping configuration; Staging environment, QA, and launch support. Final scope will be confirmed after an initial discovery phase.

Platform Experience Required: You have have deep, hands-on WordPress/WooCommerce experience (large catalogs, performance optimization, checkout flows)

Required to Apply: 2-3 ecommerce sites you personally worked on (live links); Your specific role on each project; Platform used and any relevant technical notes; 1 professional references we may contact (name & email or LinkedIn;

Nice to Have: Experience optimizing high–traffic mobile ecommerce sites; Strong understanding of ecommerce UX and conversion optimization; Ability to clearly explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders

How we will work: Fixed-price contract with clearly defined milestones; Discovery/planning phase first; All development done on staging before launch; Performance, QA, and post-launch support included; Clear communication and weekly updates expected.

What we are not looking for: Large agencies; Teams that outsource without transparency; “Pixel-perfect custom builds” that exceed budget; Candidates unwilling to provide references; Generic proposals that do not address our specific challenges

Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a paid site audit (2-4 hours) covering UX, performance and platform recommendations.
