As a WordPress Developer, you’ll design, develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites for clients across various industries. You’ll build custom themes and plugins, optimize website performance, integrate third-party services, and ensure responsive, accessible, and secure websites. You’ll work closely with UI/UX designers, project managers, and other developers to deliver projects that meet both technical and business objectives.

Strong written and spoken English is essential, as you’ll collaborate with teammates and communicate directly with clients during project discussions and planning sessions.

Responsibilities

WordPress Development

• Develop, customize, and maintain WordPress websites for client projects.
• Build custom WordPress themes and plugins based on project requirements.
• Customize existing themes while following WordPress coding standards.
• Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, CRMs, and marketing tools.

Website Performance & Security

• Optimize website speed, SEO, and Core Web Vitals.
• Ensure websites are secure, responsive, and accessible across devices.
• Perform regular maintenance, updates, backups, and troubleshooting.
• Identify and resolve bugs, compatibility issues, and performance bottlenecks.

Collaboration

• Work closely with UI/UX designers to translate designs into responsive websites.
• Collaborate with project managers and developers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in code reviews, planning meetings, and technical discussions.
• Provide technical recommendations and contribute to project planning.

Quality & Innovation

• Follow WordPress best practices and coding standards.
• Stay current with WordPress updates, plugins, security practices, and emerging web technologies.
• Continuously improve development processes and website quality.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional WordPress development experience.
• Strong experience with WordPress theme and plugin development.
• Proficiency in PHP, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and MySQL.
• Experience with page builders such as Elementor, Divi, or WPBakery.
• Experience with WooCommerce customization and development.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Understanding of website performance optimization, SEO, and security best practices.
• Experience with Git and modern development workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), Custom Post Types, and Gutenberg block development.
• Familiarity with React or Vue.js for custom WordPress interfaces.
• Experience with hosting platforms such as WP Engine, Kinsta, SiteGround, or Cloudways.
• Knowledge of CI/CD workflows and deployment automation.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
